In the near future the world lives under the rule of the One State—a worldwide government
that controls everything.  But like many governments there are those that stand opposed to
the autocratic rule that the One State has imposed upon the world.  To the One State the only
rule that applies is that they rule—absolutely.  Even the church, which had been a standard of
freedom for thousands of years, had been forced to adopt the One State’s ideas or hide.  The
Underground was born.

Flashpoint follows the journey of David and Jen Williams who are put to flight when the group
known as the FBT arrests their parents and friends for forming and running an illegal church
which believes in Jesus and the Bible.  They are rescued by a resistance underground that
opposes the One State and its puppet the One Church.  Deciding to join the underground they
leave their known life behind to become e-girl—a genius Body Surfer who can crack anything
the net can throw at her—and Calamity Kid—the newest member of the Sandmen which are the
backbone of the Muscle Cells of the Underground.

The Underground is small and in a time where the One State covers the world in darkness, the
Underground walks in the light.  Both e-girl and Calamity Kid are thrust into a newly opened
worldview filled with new challenges to them—physically and spiritually—and they quickly
discover that the enemy plays by a different set of rules.  The siblings are labeled as terrorists
with the rest of the Underground, but they will not be deterred from the new role that God has
given to them.  Both are driven to rescue their parents and friends from the hands of One State
and along the way help bring Jesus’ light to a darkened world.

When a rescue operation goes bad Calamity Kid is left with only a few people to help him
discover what happened and during the process he discovers a serious problem.  The One State
has started a new offensive to finally crush the Underground for good and using knowledge
gained before joining their ranks he works to save the Underground and take the fight to the
enemy.

However finding a final chance to rescue his family and church, Calamity Kid and his sister e-girl
put together a daring plan to invade a highly restricted hospital.  And when a problem arises
during the operation Calamity Kid must face down an evil he hadn’t even known existed.  A
man possessed of multiple demons—who is the head of the One State’s secret police known as
the Disciples—has set a trap to catch Calamity Kid and turn him to their side.

What ensues is a battle for the future of the Underground and for the soul of this daring
Sandman.  To submit means the destruction of the Underground and all Calamity Kid holds dear,
but to fight this terror may mean the destruction of his very soul.

From page one the story doesn’t stop.  I picked up the book and couldn’t put it down until I
was done.  Frank gives the reader an in depth look into characters that you instantly fall in love
with while you share their trails and their triumphs.  Flashpoint is an amazing blend of Biblical
Truths in a Science Fiction world.  For Christians who love science fiction and have been
stranded in a wasteland your oasis has come.

Powerful characters fuel the plot that seems to pull you from one page to the next while the
world of the near future seems not only real, but very plausible in the day and age that we live
in.  Simply put, Frank Creed makes the Matrix look puny. The drama is high and the action so
fast-paced that you almost forget you’re reading Christian Truths until a scripture pops out of
the text.  Instead of detracting from the overall story-telling the Word reveals insight into how
real God is in our everyday lives.  Also the theme of love that permeates the Bible also flows
through the story in perfect clarity establishing and upholding Biblical Truths of loving your
neighbor, loving your enemies, and above all the unconditional love between us and our Savior.

In a world where Sci-Fi rules the shelves and the box office it’s about time that Christians
established a place among them.  Flashpoint delivers the Gospel in a style that will have
everyone wanting more.  Frank’s writing is a colossal step towards delivering the Gospel to a
new generation and an inspiration to future writers that Science Fiction and God are not
mutually exclusive.
